Snowflake Crystals

by LostHopesCrimsonTears   Mar 4, 2006

Pure white crystals
slowly falling
dancing, twirling
they mingle

formed in the heavens
they make their decent.

upon reaching their destination
they are reminded...
their fate lays unknown to them

when they reach the ground,
will they remain?
pile upon one another
each keeping its neighbor safe

or....
will the cold wet ground entomb them.
their very core of being
washed away, with out a trace of ever existing

slowly falling
somehow they keep their faith.
they do not fight what may come
but instead welcome their release

for soon, in the darkness they shall pass
or in light they shall prevail
and their true purpose known
their souls are finally put to rest

Great write! Such an obscure topis (how did you get the idea) and so wonderfully carried off, "will the cold wet ground entomb them.
    their very core of being
washed away, with out a trace of ever existing" I can't help feeling that you aren't really talking about snowflakes (or maybe I'm just reading too far into it) an any rate I loved it, 5/5 x

    they are reminded...
their fate lays unknown to them

Wow this truly was a beautiful and indepth image
The 4th stanza particularily stood out the most to me
The flow and vocabulary was well constructed
    Great stuff :)

    They make their decent.

Descent has an s in it . .

    Great poem -

    slowly falling
    dancing, twirling

I really liked those lines - it put a sound in my ear . . a sort of twinkling sound . . hehe The poem really absorbed me as a reader, so I could see the snowflakes in my mind, and I saw the many people milling around, uncertain in a shopping centre - don't now why - just came to me. Loved to read it, thankyou.

    Peace. [Sole]
