22 lines of a holiday

by Arunansu   Nov 19, 2007

Earlier this piece was named "The paper boats". This is a modified version.

Plastic cricket ball
bumping against
knowns and unknowns
in a black & white television set
Mom's yell
unwanted homework copies
cloudless firmament
strewn with Autumn kites;
childhood sunshine
over my holiday morn.

Scattered world
of dog-eared crayon box
unread text books
four cornered papers
few measured folds
fancied paper boats
swimming in pools of
afternoon downpour.

Playful time
twisting and turning
claps along with
drops of joy.
