In tandem

by Arunansu   Dec 18, 2007

Billowing up in a serpentine queue
the smoke tangles around you,
your bemused eyes,
becoming paler

I burn inside.

As the fish-shaped ashtray
keep staring at my undoing,
your deep kisses
savor the poison in me.

Do you need me
for the sake of a wintriness
outside?

Or must I annihilate
for the sake of a burning,
in and around your heart?

No use contemplating however,

we are both suffering in tandem.
