Excursion

by Arunansu   Dec 20, 2007

A traveler bus
standing by,

array of young sleeves
popping out of windows,

with hand prints of joy
on cherubic faces.

I was on my way back,

loved getting showered
by the crowd of excitement.

They took me
in front of a wall
stamped by hand prints

They stopped me
in front of
a collage of timeworn colors,

I placed my palm
amongst them

Blots near my fingertips,
my newborn calluses
- did they not enjoy
such an excursion
to tenderness?
