Frightful!

by Arunansu   Jan 9, 2008

Tonight, I had to depend on a skinny white candle
to light up my thoughts.

I was remorseful, my poesy in tears for her beloved.

In the quiet, I sensed a faint moan,
a hush of some unseen
upsetting the flame.

Yet there was no one in sight, not a soul.

After a while,
a sigh, and a few soft whispers.

But no one in sight,
only the wail of verses

Soon a voice joined them. Very near.

A face appeared ( as sinister as can be),

a fiendish grin

burning eyes

I froze.
Voice choked.

Suddenly, lights were on!

The creature in front
slowly uncovered it's mask

and there stood Brian, my incorrigible nephew,
with smiles all over!
