Andrea, this, even without the footnote is sad; however, with it, the poem is heart-breaking. I confess, until now I hadn't read it properly, but boy I am glad I did.

The thought that 'Mother moon' aka 'Luna' know and sees all is powerful. BTW my son is called Lucas - meaning, giver of light.

Mother moon witnessed your shared confession, she also knew of the sickness and misery to come. She did not warn, no, for she knew you needed one another, you 'an anorexic love child' and he with an awful fever. Both 'broken birds', but how I like to see it, is two halves making a whole.

The tombstone inscription a foretelling etched in stone - a promise of an eternity together, come what may.

    ((hugs)) for you both xx

Andrea, I loved this in our club challenge and I love it even more now. Such a dark write with a lot of love there. We sometimes come into another's life at the strangest times or places. I truly believe you two came together at the exact right time as you so eloquently wrote-well done-
