My Home

by Beautiful Forever

An empty room collects dust,
Books left unread wither away,
Tarnished handles begin to rust,
Forever these things will stay,

Windows crack from cold air,
Mirrors fail to show reflection,
Pictures hide stories to share,
The driveway has lost direction,

Insects creep around at night,
Rodents eat the rotting trash,
Nothing is found during daylight,
Any sign of life and they dash,

A lonely soul lingers here,
Waiting to be found,
But everyone runs in fear,
While I scream without a sound...
