Awakening

Cutting myself loose from what I depended on,
to bring me up, to bring me down, accordingly.
No one to hold me up in my time of need,
I didn't quite think of what it would do to me.

Trying to think of a memory to smile at,
searching within for a feeling to miss,
but my emotions has frozen over,
No longer do I know the feeling of bliss.

I'm thinking no one can touch my emotions
but the smile you have reaches me,
Our laughs lightened up my dark path,
and I just want you to never leave.

I find it's not hard to be completely open,
because I've already grown to trust you.
It's like there's been an earthquake within me,
awakening my ability to feel, it's what you do.
