Castle in the sunset

by Dove

Sun sinks into ocean,
Rays crash upon the sand,
Waves stretch to reach the shore,
Then quickly run away from land.
Our setting star shines a path
Across the water's sky,
It glistens on this liquid,
To cross it, so few try.
The clouds create a castle,
With towers stretching high,
Shadows deepen stairways,
And room decor is dyed.
A mote surrounds this palace,
With soldiers made of sun,
A fiery red hot dragon,
To protect the special one.
A temple risen out of nowhere,
But it won't be there for long,
Pinks and oranges fade to purples,
Now soon it will be gone.
And with a flash of green,
All residents must reside,
Back to where they came from,
Castle sinks to tide.
