A Calendar Year of Posey (August)

by Your Dark and Secret Lover

The bumble bee and yellow jacket stings
And Leo to the Belamoure will sing,
The happy Venus merry gave her glove
With flowers pink to show her summer love.
Arrayed vermilion on the country side
A many fruits and flowers to decide
The pomegranate, nectarine, and peach
Enjoy the many you can eat of each.
And oh, the berry black I found delicious
And yet the darker berry sweet and luscious
To foster nutrients that help you nourish
Into a crystal-bright prismatic flourish.
My summer days are lethargy and leisure
The Ecstasy of happiness and pleasure,
The sun between the trees a little glance
Make pretty patterns on the curtain dance,
Oh how the light and shadow glorified
My hungry weary mental satisfied,
And out the bed my eyes beheld the beam
Divorcing bed for nature's beauty gleam
Reflecting soft and gold the evening falls
Below the earth where many creatures crawl.
Productive is the worm's embellishment
Enriching earth with all his nourishments,
And humans dig the worm to bait the fish
From out the pond will come a dainty dish.
