He Wears a White Tuxedo

by Maple Tree   Feb 23, 2015

I embrace wisps of frigid cold in winter,
for I am alive,
misty exhales swirl around ice daggers,
held by the old mighty maple.

My warrior in winter.

He never leaves my side in seasons,
Walking with shadows,
holding his leaves of autumn.

Cooling my heated cheeks
from a shady, rooted trunk
of summertime melodrama.

My warrior, my Maple
awaits to cradle a crickets
sigh for me, upon a springs
curtsy.

For now he wears a white
tuxedo, spun of silky snow.

Maple trees have very strong roots, which I love that you tie into here, because it's a beautiful metaphor. Your roots dig deep into this warrior. Such a heartfelt thought.

I love that "my warrior in winter". Just sounded beautiful.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the spring's curtsy. Seriously, just a fun image to read. <3 <3 <3
