Earning her Wings: Tales of Four Seasons

by Maple Tree   Jun 25, 2015

Midnight called upon her passing
like a dragonflies persistence,
she fell violently, upon a Summers end.

Unbeknownst to others, she lay twisted
upon a bed of sunshine, while roses
wilted for Winter's return.

She flew with rustic intentions,
which led to catastrophic endings
and by nightfall, her forestry eyes
fell under the spell of Autumns kiss.

It wasn't until Spring, that her true nature
came to pass, and under a fallen moon
she hushed within ripples of a river, inhaled life circles
from a passing pine, and new nothing of her past; except,

her four Seasons, and the night she earned her wings....

    Hello Maple Tree.
As you have so many wins, I thought it only prudent to read a few of your pieces. I can see why your work is so popular. ......."she lay twisted upon a bed of sunshine, while roses wilted for winter's return." - superb.
