Perfect Memories.

by Letty   Feb 9, 2008

Perfect Memories.

Picture perfect memories dance inside my mind.
Like a ballerina at the finale drifting back in to time.
So mesmerizing they are, keeping me in a trance,
swirling before me like blue jays- in an April shower dance.

Smiling to myself, but yet everyone can see me,
Wondering if I have a mental defect, once I start giggling.
Memories of humorous times- tend to make me laugh out-loud.
Those are the things that I'll keep with me for the rest of my aging life.

Oh those memories are just what I need sometimes,
Especially when I'm feeling down, lost, or without a friend.
They keep me working and striving to achieve all goals,
And displays the promises of the end.

I love the second paragraph where you spoke about laughter and how it just keeps you going. You gave this poem a certain persona that was fabulous! I really like this one. I have nothing bad to say about it!
    Good job,

Letty, very nice. The only thing that threw me was the way you started and ended with a rhyming pattern and ditched it in the second stanza. It's not a bad thing, and it just threw me off a bit.

You opened the poem with an -amazing- metaphor. I love it, and I can't stress that enough. And you wrapped it up nicely at the end. Great job; I don't even need to tell you that you're talented because it's just so blatantly obvious.

This poem is very deep and i like that. You made it personal. I think that going back to memories can help us remember who we were or still are. I also like how it was just the right length. You didnt make it to long, i think it would have taken away from the simplicity of it. Great vocabulary as well!
    Well done!
