Just Me

by Alyson   May 18, 2004

Maybe I wear sweats,
and pink socks with flip-flops.
Maybe I don't like listening to loud music
and I'm not on the top of the social tree.
Maybe I don't care about the stuff
that makes your life so great!
Maybe you look at me and think:
Gee, what a nothing girl.

Maybe I like giving smiles
which seems to be a sin in today's society.
Maybe you don't understand me
and that's why you cannot see the real me.
If this makes me a nothing girl,
Hey, that's fine by me!!

The world makes you believe
your personality don't mean crap,
Your face must be picture perfect
and wear clothes just the best, to be accepted.
Maybe I look at you
and feel sorry that you're blind.
Robots you have became,
yourself you'll never find!

God made you, as well as me!
This means….I AM SOMETHING!
The world is a liar
and if I must be a nothing
for you to see it,
then so be it!

Just because I am not popular,
nor am I skinny too.
Just because I wear different clothes than you,
don't make me a nothing girl!

You all look the same,
and laugh because I don't
If I wanted to be like you,
I would make me a robot too!

I am who I am!
If you don't like me……GET OVER IT!

I don't care if the guys don't like me.
They never really did.

So those guys, they like you…..
well woop de do!

I LIKE MYSELF THE WAY I AM,
TO BAD YOU DON'T TOO!!!!
