Scratched Lyrics, Broken Melodies [collab with Jess]

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   Feb 16, 2008

I'm trying to write the final line, to complete my endless song,
Yet as I sing it, I do fear, that I have composed my lyrics wrong,
He let go of my hand for the last time; my eternity disappeared,
The skies opened wide, on me they cried, my future swiftly seared.

With just one chance at a forever, my heart could only approve,
I placed my heart on the line, set it concrete, I couldn't move,
It was my choice; my heart had known the chance I was willing to take,
For the chance of having everything, I'd take the risk that it'd all break.

...And as my world came tumbling, crashing down at my feet,
I slowly died, my heart lifeless inside, my life still not complete,
But my mouth, it's shut tight, and it's afraid to once more open,
My tongue, it's lying still, with all of my words left unspoken.

I've tried so many times now, to sing my life's song over again,
I've tried to rebuild it all, and make it just like it was back then,
Some of the happiest moments of my life, were those I will never regret,
But how it all ended, how it all slipped away, is what I will never forget.
