Trading Me for Her

by kenz   Mar 1, 2008

Any way you twist it,
turn it,
burn it,
he left me for her and the pain is still painful.

No matter the verse,
no matter the line,
each poem speaks the same truth
that fills these parts of me.

Agony.
Angst.
Torture.
Strain.

My heart is falling apart,
bit by bit,
seam by seam.

Looking back now,
I wonder why I cried so hard.
Was it because we were friends?
Maybe its because we used to talk about nothing?
Maybe its because I loved you?

Whatever.
Its over.
Glances in the hallway,
short bursts of laughter never meant for me.

I miss it,
and I wish you did too.
