Tears of Blood [self-harm]

by Miranda   Mar 5, 2008

She slowly slices her skin
and closes her eyes in bliss
She is no longer sitting on the muddy ground
She doesn't know where she is
just floating in empty space
as the blood flows freely
She looks down at her arm
"tears of blood"
she whispers softly,getting light-headed
Her open cut starts to sting
as her eye's salty tears blend
with the crimson liquid
She sighs as she puts a towel there
applying pressure to stop the pain
that has been her escape for so long
Now she has to return to the real world
where she is just one invisible freak
among the thousands that roam around
And she's just as invisible in her own house
One of these days, she will be free
whether it's because she escapes
or she decides to take that final cut
so she never whip's the tears of blood away again

This poem was good. But I feel like it could have been longer. I love the feeling you put behind it and the words you use. I just think you could have put more of a story into it. But great job :)
