No One Ever Told You

by mikaella   Mar 6, 2008

Like a drowning child in a well
You were never taught to tread water for so long
You're becoming weak
You try and try to climb up the wall but it's slippery
You
Fall
Back into the cold, still water
Drowning and yet, still you try
Because no one ever told you
That the very substance you drink, that you bathe your grimy body in could kill you
No one ever told you.

It's like your driving on a road you seem to recognize
It looks safe, familiar
Then out of no where,
You hit black ice and find yourself in a ditch, blood running down your forehead
You can't move, you're strapped down
By something, something that was suppose to keep you safe, a simple seat belt.
You fiddle with it but your stuck, like chewed gum stuck on the bottom side of a chair
The smell of gas engulfs your lungs and you become light headed and dizzy
The smell grows thicker as your head begins to ache
You do not move you do not struggle. You simply Accept.
Because no one ever told you that your never really safe.
Like a child in a well you are stuck,
But determined
Yet, you are also strapped in the car ready to just give up
What do you do?
When all the things that used to seem so safe
Are destroying you.

It really shows your deep feelings about what no one ever told one. It's good.
