Happy Again

by Mike Wilburn   Mar 16, 2008

My recent history has been sad and blue
The one I loved was untrue
Negative feelings have dominated
Happy times had ceased to be created
The darkest place I did find
A treacherous crevice within my mind
One false step my life would fail
A road to nowhere a hidden trail
Each day I wake solitary
This weight my burden unable to carry

A new beginning on wings of light
Darkness challenged a future bright
A maiden fair with hand outreached
Raised me up my heart to teach
Laughter anew and comfort found
Passion ignites cheerful thoughts abound
She makes me happy never sad or blue
New love discovered I know it's true
Positive energy a welcome return
Fiery emotions no longer burn
