Breathe

by Quietly Versed   Mar 22, 2008

Living in your presence,
It's not hard to do.
I breathe in, I breathe out,
My heart is fed my lifeblood at the mere sight of you.
It is when we part that life's resources I have to ration.
I hold my breath as I sink to the bottom of this world's gloomy ocean.
Getting back to you is my dying passion.
My heart doth no longer taste the sweetness of lifeblood's face.
Like an arrow without a bow,
My rations running low,
I begin my journey back to you.
As I journey speed has no haste,
And haste moves so slowly for that of my pace.
I travel in hopes of life renewed.
Arriving at your side I hold you tenderly,
I smile,
I sigh,
I breathe.
