Forever

For so many years, I said I'd wait forever.
Because I knew you were the one for me.
I didn't care how long forever'd take.
I only wish that you'd have seen.

As the years trotted by, and life lived on.
Forever seemed to grow farther and farther away.
I don't know why, but I wouldn't give up hope.
I refused to let it grow astray.

I use to hope for something so cliche.
Like a movie with a happy ending.
Maybe he would fall in love with me.
But I learned you never get what you're expecting.

Although back then, I meant what I said.
I truly believed that we were meant for fate.
But I've gotta move on with my life.
Cause forever... is just too long await.
