Grandma, I wish I knew

Grandma,
Ive heard so much about you,
And how Im kind of like you.
I never wear shoes,
I hate them,
And I tell every one the truth,
Just like you did!

You never got to know me,
Fore I was born after you died.
I wish I could have known you
Because I hear Daddy and Jimmy talk about you all the time,
And even though I never heard your voice,
Or seen you,
I still miss you.

I lay awake at night,
Just wondering what you would say about me,
And wondering if I would be the perfect Great Granddaughter.
Would you have helped me,
When I fell?..
Would you take me into the kitchen,
And show me the right way to cook?
The true italian way.
Would you make me work in the back yard with GrandPa?
And laugh as he yelled at my brothers.

I wish I knew,
But I know I never will.
But theres one thing,One thing I do know.

And thats that I love,
I love and Miss you!

Where ever you are,
I hope I have made you proud,
Because I know you're watching me.

    Oh my gosh Tiffy! this poem is so sad!! :'( I have a poem similar to this one "called A letter to heaven"

    and I'm sorry you never got the chance to meet your grandma. I am very sure she loves you and that she is so so proud of you. In her eyes you are perfect, after all you are part of her.
    As for the poem, You pick so many good words to use in this poem. You took the time to paint this very unique and sad poem in my head. As I read this poem, I started to cry a little bit because I can so really relate to this poem, Except for the part where you didn't get to meet her. I got to know my grandma but to a certain age. I was really young when she died. =( But she is looking down from heaven and smiling at you.
