I'll See You Around

by Christina Gillis   Apr 12, 2008

In the end we loose people
that we love,
we hope god excepted them
and we hope they are above.

Everything made new again
those in pain are eased,
everyone with frowns smile bright
those undoubtful worries are ceased.

Ones who are sent
to battle with the devil,
god rest their soul
they weren't able to succeed to the lords level.

God will come
and take us home one day,
until then
all we can do is pray.

My dad was lucky
and got his ticket three months ago,
I should be happy for him
but for some reason I can't let it go.

I've gone this whole time
without being able to see my dad,
at fifteen years old you shouldn't go through this
it hurts me really bad.

I know he's in heaven
looking over me,
but I would feel much better
if one last time it was him I could see.

I would say I'm sorry
for putting him through so much over the years,
I would open up to him
and tell him all my unbearable fears.

I would cry in his arms
until I had no more tears left in my eyes,
I wouldn't let him go
until it was time to say our last "Good-Byes."

I already know he would smile and say
"All is forgiven, don't cry, daddy's here,"
and for those few moments I would feel safe
not even holding onto one fear.

God will take care of my daddy
and keep him safe with a smile,
he's running around in heaven
mile after mile.

I will never forget my daddy
no chance it could be,
all I can do is wait for my turn
and daddy's smiling face I will see.

Rest in peace daddy
I'll see you around,
we'll give each other a hug and smile
while again our life's are re-found.
