Justified Affection

by Robert   Apr 14, 2008

I always knew you existed just out of my hand,
a person like myself wondering endlessly in this land.
A kin to me by way of thought and sarcastic expression,
slipping in and out of happiness to total depression.
Our short talks have given me a true picture of you,
and in that I know what I must do.
I stepped over a line when we first met,
but it is an act I never will regret.
For it gave me a hint what will lie ahead,
and know it is a road I could not dread.
I know I have to wait so you can understand me,
and in hopes you can finally come to see.
For what I offer to you is nothing but my love and my heart,
to person I know that will Cherish it from the start.
A respect given in love and need to be there,
for understand my dreams will come true when you say we are a pair.

The flow was alright, but I didn't think it was all that great. The variation of line lengths didn't help it much. A few were extremely long and others were shorter. Anyways, the message was amazing. Truly a poem written from deep within someone's heart. True feelings portrayed here. Beautiful. 5/5.
