A Child of Society

by Marius Laun   Apr 15, 2008

I am a child of society
I mirror all its flaws,
I am the world around me
I am its fangs and claws.

I'm simply just a product
Of what the world shows,
My mind a clever copy
Of what society knows

I act as I am seen
Through society's dark eyes
I represent its essence
I am its truths and lies.

Although I am its child
I'm going to break free,
I'm going to change the world
I'm going to become me.

I will cleanse this world
And remove all of the vice,
though I may fail once
I simply won't fail twice.

Yet I'm society's child
But won't mirror its flaws
I'll be the world around me,
without the fangs and claws.

:) That was KICK ASS!!! I loved it. I loved how you described the child of society. That was great. Reminds me of the song another brick in the wall. ^_^

Anyways, I love how you changed the poem into being non comformative and being your own self while still being a part of society. That was brilliant. Five out of five.
