Spring

by rosalina calling   Apr 28, 2008

Spring,
When the flowers are growing
And the birds sing
The birds from my childhood that play their song
As it gets closer to summer
And the grass is soft
Under my feet, making me light and free
To run with the air of a little girl at play
The rays of the sun bathe me in gold light
The freshness of the breeze
Awakens me to everything
Whispering around me,
Calling to stretch from winter's hold
Life unfolds, turns into beauty,
Surrounds me; every step I take
The trees a vibrant shade of green
With leaves, so delicate
Flowers, so fragrant
I inhale the sweet smell
Of the world's new beginning
Feeling like this could be
The beginning of my life, too
And I thank God, with every step, every breath, for this life, this day
In spring
