Going Back to Start Moving Forward

by Samantha lynn   Apr 29, 2008

And the words are falling out faster then a shooting star
And I'm standing on the shore of my hometown with two hearts beating in time
And there are tears and smiles victories and failures
And I'm standing here wishing to know where my life had begun
And knowing where to leave it off before I end up standing
And standing here with too many questions and too many dreams left unanswered
And I'm scared to death you will see me for what I really am
And I know you're letting me go because these no going back
And there are sand castles and laughter echoing in my memories
And this silence is screaming how terribly I wanted you
And the setting sun shines over the Long Island Sound
And I remember that you were a one second stand
And that it lasted for 365 days and drove across to the West coast
And that hearts were supposed to be bound
And the ring I left on the table with my note broke your soul
And that here I stand yet again on the shores of my home.

Looking over the ocean with silent tears falling
In the loudest symphony I can hear today.
These sunsets and silhouettes are falling tonight
As my shallow heart starts to fall apart.
