Beauty Unfolded

by Poet on the Piano   May 1, 2008

People might say the world is not great,
That it has flaws and many fates.
Some parts of the earth may not be the best,
But with nature it has gained respect.

Such as the glorious mountains that soar,
Their tips touching the cloud's perfect core.
The sun gleaming as if a sudden alert,
Making the clouds look like orange sherbert.

The lake acting as a reflecting mirror,
Showing the sky but ever so clearer.
The evergreens moving swiftly to each other,
As if telling secrets forbidden to another.

The sun is needed for warmth and pleasure,
Its brightness rises to an unknown measure.
The clouds are wanted for drops of wet rain,
Something that all nature can surely obtain.

The sun does not once hide within the clouds,
But instead stays out and looks very proud.
All together they make up a breathtaking place,
As the wind whispers words with wondrous grace.

I'm not a fan of the opening, it made the reader feel as though they were only reading the poem, though had you such beautiful descriptions of nature, it felt as though being told about it rather than seeing it if you get what I mean.

People might say is the phrase that shows that you are going to hear a poem and not take part in it, so is using the word that in the sentence after as though you need to explain the first line.

This is a beautiful one. I really like your use of language in this. Btw, thanks for correcting me on my spelling and grammatical errors. I wrote that poem a long time ago yet I didn't notice the mistake I made! Haha.. :p

Another magnificent nature write from you! a brilliant rhyme and flow, once more. wonderfully written as well.
i don't think the last two lines were really needed, but it was still very well penned.

Together they make up a breathtaking place,
As the wind whispers words with wondrous grace.
