The Danger of Pretending

by Vodka   May 3, 2008

I listen to the comforting words you say
that make all the bad go away.
I still have tears that flow like rain,
I'm not worried about hiding the pain.

I put on a happy face
and try to make all the pain erase.
I pretend you're not here,
which brings all the more fear.

I know I'm dying inside
as my heart tries to confide.
Now I know the dangers that rise
of pretending, and living lies.
