The Killer

by Siro aKa Gaara   May 4, 2008

There is a monster, big and strong
His will to live is one prolonged
He fights against you even through the night
You are unsure how long you can keep up the fight.

I wonder what hes doing, I wonder whats his plan
Why did he have to choose you out of everyone in this land.
You really want to beat him, you give it everything you got
They said that in this battle, he has nearly lost.

Your family loves you so much, they don’t want to see you go
If you were to leave them, their pain would truly show.
Uncountable were the tears that were shed
When doctors announced that you were dead.

This I am sure I never want to see
Cancer is a destructive monster, is it inside of me?

Another great poem, shorter but to the point. You capture the feelings behind this poem and really emphasize them so that the reader can catch it while reading.
"He fights against you even through the night
You are unsure how long you can keep up the fight." These lines stuck out the most. It's a scary thought to think that something will never stop fighting you. This poem flowed very smoothly, a great poem. (5/5)

This poem was so good becuase of the ending. You'd expect to hear about a monster, a vicious killer in flesh that kills people, but you discovered instead that the killer is one of the deadliest illneses, cancer.
The poem was well written with the right choosing of words and rhyming. Excellent job 5/5

Wow very very deep... at first i read it as a literal message, a monster... i was in a fanatsy... but no it was merely a metaphor for a deadly thing.. cancer. great job. loved this. btw thanks for reading my poems. :)
