When I said I loved you, I swear I lied

by mier   May 6, 2008

Your complacent ego masked with prudent vanity,
watching me with a icy glare of your eyes.
The sordid martyr of your facade agony,
got me confused in the web of your lies.
When I said I wanted you,
I swear I lied.

Pushing me away like a stray blasphemy,
you kept saying it would be better if I died.
This so-called love you threw upon me,
got me picking up pieces of my shattered pride.
When I said I needed you,
I swear I lied.

In my heart, there is no more place for forgiveness,
you have filled it up with abundant scars of hatred.
The thought of you drove me into blatant madness,
after every time we ended a fight.
When I said I treasured you,
I swear I lied.

The tender gaze when I gave in to your needs,
triggers the ache of forlorn that burns so trite.
There's no need to waste our breaths saying goodbyes,
when you have gave me nothing except the tears that I cried.
Darling, when I said I loved you,
I swear lied.
