Look in my eyes tell me what do you see.
Do you see the pain that you've brought me?
Or do you see whats fooled you all this time,
This empty mask I hide behind?

It used to be that you could tell
when I was lying about being well
but I guess that left when your love for me died
Now you can't see the sadness I try to hide

Am I supposed to forget the bond we had?
Is your goal here to see me sad?
We used to be something so great
you filled me with love instead of hate

I remember every word you said
how you kept me from wishing to be dead
Now you've left me for her, what have you done?
And here I thought you were the one

    This is sooo touching, and I almost cried it brought back so many memories and bring up to the surface my broken heart! Great emotion and truth you put into it, it really came from your heart, remarkable poem!!

    This is really full of heart, sadness was so real that I and many others feel this way after something like this. This piece has great rhyme, and the flow had such a strong clear and steady beat.
    I love the last line
    "And here I thought you were the one"
    Great ending to the poem, its exactly the right moment, this whole piece I could imagine you telling all this to his face...
