All You Could Do.

by Unseen Exposure   May 27, 2004

Walking down the city street,
Not knowing what to say,
Wondering what you're thinking,
Fearing this could be our only day,
Standing on the top of the world,
Seeing things from a different view,
Everything was better up there,
I think because of you,
Then a fear grew in my heart,
Of what I might be worth,
Were you satisfied with me?
Or was it her that you preferred?
And only for a second in time,
Did my heart begin to burn,
Maybe it was from the jealousy,
And never wanting to learn,
So much of myself was happy,
For being there with you,
For getting the chance to have,
One perfect dream come true,
It didn't matter where we were,
Or what we might have done,
Either way I knew that,
I would still have fun,
You said I'd be disappointed,
Disappointed never crossed my mind,
I had an amazing day with you,
With a chance to leave the world behind
But in the end my heart was lonely,
And in my mind it wasn't fair,
How I could only love you,
But all you could do was… care.
