Three Little Words

by Sheltered   May 25, 2008

It's the hardest thing for me to say, a simple three word phrase,
It's the thing you want to hear from me and I from you.
It's the summary of my feeling for you, simple and clean,
Saying the words "I" and "You", but something missing in between.
Looking into your eyes, an eternity passes by.
Stroking you soft hair, hearing your soft cry,
I turn away, close my eyes, and say a silent prayer,
Hope to pour my heart and soul, please don't leave me bare.
Please stay by me, please don't run away,
Please give me that opportunity, be my shining ray.
I turn to you once again, and work up my brave,
Let out all my feelings and show you what I gave.
To you I pour all my secrets out, all that lie within,
What if you don't accept my faith, that's when the pain begins.
The stares, the lies, the cold feeling on my back,
The regret, the loneliness, the line between fake and fact.
The truth is, if you left me, I would die.
Right here, where I stand, without a single bye.
You are my everything, you are my life,
You are the sun and moon in my sky,
You are the oxygen which I breathe,
My heart is the lock and you are the key.
You are the burning fire in my furnace,
Without you, I would be misplaced.
I guess there's only one thing left to say,
I love you; I hope that's how it stays.
