Mars - The Red Planet

by Lonely Rider   Jun 3, 2008

Mars - The Red Planet

Glittering reddish star
Amongst the twinkling above
Deriving its name
From the Roman war-god

Encircle Phobos and Deimos
The planet's natural moon
Thought to be captured asteroids
Observation will reveal soon

Features resemble mother Earth
Science takes a different mode
Fantasize the astronomers
Of a Maritan abode!!!

Little red creatures with antenna
Large round eyes emiting light
Scientist obsessed with the idea
A theory that haunts their night

Orbitors, Rovers hit the surface
As studies become history
Exploration still continue
Mars maintaining its mystery.

A very interesting and different poem, one step aside from what is common in petry, abcb, nice rhyming.
The talent shows in every line, and the rhytm is excelent.
What does this poem interesting is the difference, the non-triviel genre and it lifts itself on a higher level cause of the fantasy and science that you placed in it, the truth contra the unknown. The red planet will stay in our minds, with martians and all we hear about in the modern society, but will stay in stories until we explore what never been seen before.
    Beautyfull work

    5 thumbs up
