After All This Time

by Jenn   Jun 5, 2008

So young but knowing whats going on
She turned around and knew the pain she couldnt heal.
She couldnt bury it, couldnt deny it.
Knocking on her door, without his hand, she fell.

After all this time, she never thought she would be here,
When her love for life was blind.
Nobody could make her see it,
But she loved him more than he would ever know.
Parts of her continued to die
After she let him go.

She fell asleep without dreaming
Like she did so many nights before.
Her dreams were slowly fading
Crashing, breaking to the floor.

She never thought she would be there
When her life had made her blind.
Nobody could make her see it,
But she loved him more than he would ever know.
Parts of him continued to die
After she let him go.

The lights from the stars fade out
After all this time,
Would she ever want to leave him?
Somehow they would never believe it
And nobody could ever tell

They loved each other more than they could ever know
Parts of them grew back together,
Moulding into one
The day they held each other tight 80 years later.
