Letter to a Broken Heart

Dear Heart,
I met a boy today
He smiled at me
And walked my way

He sat down
And we began to talk
The lunch bell rang
And we began to walk

We talked about music
And movies and me
He asked if I
Had Saturday free

I told him I'd think about it
And call him at 2
But first I had to go home
And write a letter to you

I know last time
It wasn't quite right
And the pain that he caused
Hurt into the night

But maybe this one's
Not gonna break you apart
So I'm just asking
Can we try again, Heart?

When he gave me his number
I felt you jump
And when he hugged be goodbye
You began to thump

If it's okay
I'll meet him tomorrow behind the tree
Think about it please
