Open Book

If love is fair
Then why does a rose have thorns?
If god cares
Then why does the child morn?
If war brings peace
Then why are there more and more?

The questions asked
No answers known
What ye reap must be sown
Yet we sit and ask no more
And wander blind
On dried up shores
Yet we cry but do nothing
And still we ask
Is there something?

Something left to heal a heart
Something left, somewhere to start
Something needed but not owned
Something given not just loaned

A rose has Thorns for the pain
A child mourns to feed the rain
War brings no peace
But peace of mind
But even that, Leaves scars behind

Answers to questions can be found
You only need to look
No longer bound
life can be an open book.

Nice poem. I especially liked the 3rd stanza. It sort of just stood out for me. It was a very good read for me so keep on writing.

Nice poem. I liked the format of it and how it progressed. It's an enjoyable read and I like how you answered the questions and life can certainly be an open book if we actually look :) Good job
