Hidden Demons

by Paralyzed   Jun 25, 2008

Deep inside,
The darkest place,
Where fear is born and bred,

A demon hunts,
And will not stop,
Until its will is fed.

Dreamers dream,
But you do not,
Haunted through the night,

Soaked in sweat,
You're all alone,
Praying for the light.

The suns sweet kiss,
Upon your skin,
Sure that you're alive,

In the shadows,
Never known,
If this time you'll survive.

You run so far,
Gone so long,
Find the pain still there,

For everything,
You wish to leave,
Is trapped inside your stare.

Lonely eyes,
Tortured soul,
A mind that cannot see,

You have to face,
What weighs you down,
In order to be free.

What descriptions and imagery you portray in these lines, its simple, but yet so descriptive and breathtaking. This whole poem was so captivating and I felt like I was that person, feeling all that was going on. Your emotions were strong all the way, and really caught up to me. You definetly had me wanting more by the end, and the person in this poem came so alive to the reader. A very mind-blowing and thrilling poem to read. 5/5 from me, take care. Keep writing, always and forever.....

This was very well done. the first stanza drew me in completely, which is why it won you first place in my contest. it takes a good writer to make you oblivious to your surrounding when you read something, and you accomplished that. excellent job.
