State Of Mind

by Blueleo   Jun 28, 2008

We relate best through pain.
What binds us is what drives us insane.
A population ruined by seeking happiness.
Look back through the ages, you'll find nothing but sadness.

Our hearts learn to share a feeling, rarely worth remembering.
Emotions gather but quickly they go scattering.
We feel empty because we have urges.
So many feelings they purge us.

We constantly seek that missing piece that'll make us whole.
We hold on tight to a dream of a complete soul.
Constantly, we judge other peoples actions.
In reality, we are all seeking other options.

The path of needs is a long one.
The search for completeness is never done.
Where do we go from here?
What should we hold dear?

There is no magical answer that can make the world great.
There is only choices and sudden fate.
There is only one way to free the soul,
The same way that brought us diamonds from coal.

Some can block out the call.
Some think they can avoid the fall.
We all know it's the same disastrous path.
We have perfected that part of the math.

Yet we still search over and over for more of the same.
We search for love, desire or maybe some fame.
Our ego takes control, tells us to pull together and stand.
Again we get ready to travel through the forgotten land.

We can always share happy memories of the faded past.
Try to relive what came but did not last.
Even then our goal is the same.
We're just playing the same old game.
