I Hope You're Happy

by Tina Carr AKA Snickers   Jun 28, 2008

Although I'm left in pain
I really hope you're pleased
You shouldn't have to suffer
Just because I'm uneased

If she's as perfect as she seems
Then you certainly struck gold
I'm just glad that you've found someone
'Better than me,' as I'm told.

She does seem much less complicated
And much less of a bore
I'll bet you won't get tired of her
And run quickly for the door

You can talk to her for hours...
You get along so well...
You'll last a very long time
Believe me, I can tell

You say she's so much different
Than all the girls you usually date
I'll try to refrain from reminding you
It's girls like her you used to hate

You're much more content
And though it's hard for me to see
When I see you two together
It seems meant to be

You left me out of nowhere
So you could get to her
I know you won't regret it...
You seem more joyful than you were

I guess you were right--
I was just in the way
So I will try to use
These words to convey

That even though I really hope
Your search for love is done
And even if she makes you happy
I always thought you were the one

  • Oh it made me so sad becuase I know what the girl is feeling.:(
Anyways, I really like this poem. It has a nice flow and consistent structure. It's also easy to read and understand the purpose. The only part I really don't like is the first stanza because you use happy and crappy. To me it doesn't do the rest of the poem justice. Other than that I think it's a good write.
