Anorexia nervosa poem

by Goodbye   Jun 30, 2008

Thin, thinner, thinnest
fat, fatter, me

All this weight
Is what I see

Slim, slimmer, slimmest
oh, to be just like you

A whole day without eating
my dreams will come true

Small, smaller, smallest
fitting into small sizes

Everyone likes thin girls,
haven't you realized?

Why show you a pearl
when you see an empty shell

Who cares about the inside
what outside can not tell

Eat little. less, the least
beat your inner beast

Welcome to world of anorexia
where there is no mercy for fatties
for those you feast

Very thought provoking Poem Noor, I have never realized this problem with young women. Your excellent words carry a huge message. I think the Media has a lot to do with this.I liked this Verse,

    Why show you a Pearl
When you see an empty Shell?

I believe all females are Pearls who come in many shapes and sizes. Congratulations!
    Peace and Blessings

Wow... Scary to think that people actually think this way! I absolutely hate how people are portrayed to appear attractive just because they are skinny! It's retarded!!!

My friend isn't anorexic but she definitely has an eating disorder like this. It's very hard to watch a person think all these things about themselves even though they are gorgeous already. GRR!! Frustrating!!! Haha Great poem! Loved it!
