Motivation

by jescelle   Jul 1, 2008

Wipe my hands and start again,
Shake the pain of where I've been.
Love the weight upon my back,
Rid myself of what i lack.
Taste the tears along my lips,
Hem the space self-hatred ripped.
Release the pain in which they spoke,
By telling God with tender throat.
These feet are steady on the ground,
My heart is open yet does not pound.
Reality is no fear of mine,
Questioning the future? Seems just fine.
My tapestry is just beginning,
And I'M what keeps the damned thing spinning.
The truth and love in all there smiles,
It holds me up, but I walk the mile.
I jump the hoops, and I talk the talk,
I know what I want, so I walk the walk.
Lead, follow, or get out of my way,
Because I've been through this tunnel. I refuse to stay.
I know what i am, and who, and how,
I know the past and the present is what makes me RIGHT now.
And I'm loving the pressure, the push, the sensation.
And from all that I've been through?...
I'm my OWN motivation.

As I have stated I like you style
This poem has the finer quality of a narrative
    deeply revealing.

I really like these kinds of poems. :) I have a couple poem kinda like this called I am Me,(well not JUST like this, you know what I mean) but I really love the whole, "I'm my OWN motivation" type of poems. (great line btw). It was a really great poem and I'll take some more lookies at your other works. :)
