Poetry Over Prose

by Kurt   Jul 4, 2008

Lyrical promotion of ignorant bliss
Disguising tragedy one shouldn't miss
Discussing pain in a multitude of ways
Clever devices perfected over several days

Remedial stanzas release the stress
An absorbing sponge cleaning the mess
Cleansing one's emotional slate
Leaving only the present date

Robotic lines tumble into place
Emotionless as a deceased face
Illuminating the dark forgotten past
Eerie words that will always last

Chapters divided into subsections
Void of a voice capable of inflections
Stunning in an alternate approach
Attempting ideas dangerously broached

Two converse literary styles
Attempting to fascinate and beguile
Avid fans understand that I chose
To write poetry over prose

Wow. You use honest very descriptive words.
And that's what I loved about this poem. I can see where your getting when you write these lines.
