My Attempt at Optimism

You said to write something happy,
So I'm giving it a try.
I'm clinging to your words
And I'm keeping my hopes high.

Since we ended our chat
I've kept the same mindset.
I haven't broken my smile...
Well, atleast I haven't yet.

Oh wait... no pessimism.
That's a hard habit to break.
But atleast I'm really trying...
And my smile isn't fake. :)

I'm letting my thoughts wander
Without letting them get too deep.
I'm thinking that tonight,
I just might get some sleep.

I'm shamelessly reminiscing...
Not on bad times, but on good.
I'm reconsidering things
I never thought I would.

I sort of think it worked...
Whatever it was you said.
I could go on and on....
But I'll sleep on it instead.
