Not Yet

We aren't ready,
But we shall
Follow through if only
To keep trouble at bay.

Rejected kisses will linger,
A sharp stab to my heart,
Empty arms will fall,
A heartless hold on you.

Right now is not the time
To hold me tight
Because there is a barricade
Keeping us apart.

But I shall wait,
And so will you,
And hope that one day
To be ready soon.

We aren't ready,

Only to let go for now.
