The Tower

by Ronald McDonald   Jul 17, 2008

Build it up just to watch it fall
Over, and over and over again
The cycle continues as brick by brick
The higher the climb the harder the fall
Onward and upward till the sky is impaled
Beyond the clouds, beyond the horizon,
All the world becomes a dot, a singular point
Up here where everything is so far away
Then when standing firmly at the top
Watching the world from on high
The foundation shifts, the structure creaks and moans
Swaying back and forth, till it all falls
Then down toward the earth with speed
When a point is reached, no more worries no more cares
Just above ground the end is in sight
Close yours eyes, and breathe and then….
