I

I
the singular word
that completely describes
in finest detail
my answer
to the inevitable question
asked of me by all my peers
who are YOU?
I am the answer. Me, Myself
and most of all
I

But so you may know
all the words that I use
that hide behind
that singular word,
when I describe
myself through
I

I am smart, I am funny, I am strong, I am bold
I am stupid, I am lame, I am weak, I am timid
I am the sum of my life's experience
I am all that I have been
I am all that I will be
I am the world as seen through these eyes tinted by perspective
I am defined as how the world views me through the eyes of others
I am my life and my death
I am my friend and my foe
I am alone, I am connected
I am the person I pronounce myself to be

Oh, but most of all, I am simple and I am plain
as I define myself to be
no more than
the sum of
all that is
me myself
and
I
