Reality Lost

by Sole   Jul 18, 2008

Fantasies keep us alive
The perfect nights, the perfect dreams
Staring into perfect eyes
Together, forever, cliched scenes

First kisses, played over in minds
The secret lagoon in the midday sun
Sparkling blue, shimmers and shines
Reality denied, fantasy won

Running hands down a beautiful face
Lips touch, there's a spark, like fire on frost
Spurred on by passion, a flaming embrace
Open your eyes and the vision is lost

They never play true, never follow design
The window of dreams, smashed with a stone
Perhaps, one day, we'll each have our time
As reality's rejected and fantasy returns

Excellent write I really liked the flow as well as the structure of this poem. You choice of vocab was very well and thought out, good Job. The only thing I frown upon is the fact that you didn't use puncuation. Puncuation is very important in poetry, it allows the reader to know when to pause/stop reading as well as making the flow better overall.

Overall this was a well written peice of poetry. Good job, keep up the good work.

    Peace, Joe
