Love at Last..Part 2

by Broken Inside He only wants to hurt me   Jul 20, 2008

This warming sensation,
All around me.
Love I call it,
Always surrounds me.
Could he ever compete?
My love already foretold,
So much abuse,
Now keeps me cold.
Though he is always there,
My only real love.
I must now fight,
My haunting past.
The abuse I have foreseen,
That I have known,
Must always keep me in the shadow..
This cold sensation, all around me,
Competing for this warm sensation,
Filling me up.
Inside a child moves,
Cold and lonely.
Does she know it,
Feel it to?
Slowly once more,
His hands around my waist,
This warming sensation returns.
Is it love at last?
His smiling face changes it all.
We sit on the couch,
The child becomes still,
Now I know for sure....
That he is real.

I think this poem really does show true love, i love the metafor of your inner child, tht was a great idea, and going from cold to warm and back again but a great choice of direction for this poem, great job, 5/5

This is one of your better poems. I liked it. My favorite part was the beginning when you were using rhymes though. That kinda fell off and I was sad lol. Good poem still.

btw was this relating to rape? Or am I over thinking this?

This was a interesting continuation. I kind of liked how you went back and forth between cold and warmth, and now it's back to warmth again. Simply a beautiful poem. <3 5/5
